Debbie Downer

10 Things I Hate about Life

#1: I hate white things in the back of my throat. I know most of you know what I am talking about and if you are fortunate to honestly not know don’t ask.
Let’s just say since I can’t open my mouth wide enough to look in the back of my throat I ended up tossing my cookies just trying to get one out on Saturday night.

#2: Parents who do not put their children in proper child restraints. This weekend we were next to a lady at a red light. I look over and see three kids in the back seat, none in a seat or even a seat belt and a BABY in the front seat in a rear facing car seat. Um hello! Does she not see on the visor and on the car seat that you should NOT place a rear facing car seat in the front seat? Do people just not know anything? Next thing we will see this lady on the news crying her face off about loosing her child. Sad, yes but absolutely preventable, I hate that! Every parent needs a manual.

#3: The Arizona State Fair.

#4: I hate people feeling sorry for me in reference to Lily. I hate when people cry telling me that they are praying for her. Ok yes you can pray for her but pray for Andi too. Pray for me and Andrew. Don’t pray that Lily will not be who she is. That offends me more than anything else. Lily is great as she is.

#5: I hate seizures.

#6: I hate crowds. They put me in a panic.

#7: I hate my inability to sit longer than 1 hour. I swear unless it is a movie that absolutely captures all my attention I have a time limit and once 1 hour hits I start twitching. It is not a nice sight.

#8: I hate adult braces. I know that is so wrong to say but I think they look funny on adults. The really sad thing is that it looks like a road I am unable to avoid. I can either look like a dork for the next two years and hopefully have no more jaw problems or I can never eat another steak, chew gum, taffy, caramel or anything else chewy for the rest of my life. I guess I better figure out my priorities.

#9: I hate people who talk during movies.

#10: I hate traveling with my family by air or car.

TGIF

I am glad you all liked that Family Guy clip and I see it did not only imitate my life but some others as well. Gotta love the talking toddler! So we went to the AZ State Fair last night and that was an experience! Wow! If you do not know what that is like let me try to explain, take all the mullets you can find, add a touch of absolute no class and a sprinkle of "I teach my kids no manners" and you get the AZ State Fair.It was disgusting. I can't believe the people that show up to that place and I can't even believe they spend their life savings on fried Twinkies and deep fried corn on the cob. Hell I think they would deep fry me if I let them. I will say I enjoyed the company, my sister Jenn, cousin Jody, nieces Ariel, Lindsey, Skylar and cousin Jordyn plus my husband and my cute kids and I enjoyed watching Lily and Andrew ride on the little kid roller coaster and Andi looking in awe of all the lights but that is about where the fun ends. Traffic sucked, parking sucked, all the people sucked. I mean their absolute disregard for the earth; their own bodies and other humans just shocked me.You know there are some events you can go to that are crowded with people yet the people are of a different class and you want to know what that is. An exercise event, like the race for the cure or the rock and roll marathon. There you will find tons of people but most of them pick up their trash and put it in the garbage.
Ok maybe I will get a comment saying I am stereo typing but I am just describing my experiences of the AZ State Fair.

Employee of the Week!

Whew what a day! So I was at the store visiting my sister who works there every day (http://closetalamode.com) and we were all keeping an eye on this crack head and yes she was on crack. She was all over the place, making big messes and just seemed like she was on fast forward. They kept asking what things cost on sale and were just freaking on crack. Well I had to come back to my other job and finish payroll (they are less than a mile a part) and I realized I forgot to say goodbye to my cousin Jody so I walk back in and see this crack head bending over shoving clothes down her pants. Now I have always wondered how I would handle that type of situation b/c I am NOT good with confrontation but I just marched over to her with out even thinking and said “excuse me” and boy was I ever pissed! She just started pulling the stuff back out of her jeans and said she was going to try them on. (Yeah and I am Tina Turner) So I just said “no” and stood there with my arms crossed and she said “I have to go” and I said “yes”. She tells her crack head friend (the one at the register asking a million questions to take the attention off her friend) that “we have to go now” and I just watch her go (keep in mind, I was holding my purse and drink in my hand while all this went down).UGH I was so mad, I was shaking. I was shaking up to a half hour later! I was just so pissed. I hate crack heads! Hate them, hate them! My mom said that girl knew Bryan (my brother, who happens to hang with crack heads) and she said she knew we owned the store (implying why she would steal from me?) and I said “mom, she would have stolen from her own mother”. I just hate people who let a substance take over their life. They are a waste of flesh; in fact in the words on Shirley McClain “they are the boils on the butt of humanity” said in a southern accent. Two points if you can comment me with the movie that came from. Two points will get you nothing but praise from me “employee of the week” with the mad cat like skills in catching a thief.

MOMMY

So I know, I know, I know I should appreciate that word Mommy but I have to admit hearing it over and over and over again can sometimes get on my nerves.
This is Andi (19 months) lately:
Andi: "Mommy!"
Me: "What?"
Andi: "Mommy!"
Me: "What?"
Andi: "Mommy!"
Me: "What?" (finally look at her)
Andi: "Hi"
Ok cute yes but that is one time, how about the time she wants her baby in the stroller.
Andi: "Mommy!"
Me: "What?"
Andi: "Mommy!"
Me: "What?"
Andi: "Mommy!"
Me: "What?" (finally look at her)
Andi: "me mi be be bloop blop" (that is the best I can do to describe what she says)
Me: "you want the baby straped in the stroller?"
Andi: nods yes
This is all the while I am trying to do my hair to get ready, here we go again...
Andi: "Mommy!"
Me: "What?"
Andi: "Mommy!"
Me: "What?"
Andi: "Mommy!"
Me: "What?" (finally look at her)
Andi: "me mi be be bloop blop"
Me: "you now what the baby unstrapped?"
Andi: nods yes.
I was trying to get ready for a TV appearance for our store and this went on for at least 30 minutes. My patients were about gone then she goes
Andi: "Mommy!"
Me: "What" (looking at her)
Andi: "Cheeeese!" (goofiest smile around)
Me: Laugh

The Ring

So have any of you parents ever had one of those moments, lost in day dreaming thinking of how jealous you can be of other non parenting couples? Like do you know one of those couples that travel the world, that see movies on opening night and eat out several nights a week? I was just day dreaming of a trip to Hawaii with just Andrew and myself and then I start looking for my lip gloss in my purse and I found a pink and purple plastic ring that one of my girls must have gotten somewhere and I realized how lucky I am to be not only a mom but a mom to two girls. I thought I bet those couples don't find anything cool like that in their purses.

Dancing with the what?

So I have not watched Dancing with the Stars in the past seasons. I thought it looked cheesy. I still do not look forward to it and plan on my evening with it but I do have this curiousity factor that overcomes me and I switch back and forth with that and Nip/Tuck. Last night I watched a lot more than the commercial time in Nip/Tuck (which was a good episode as well and I love Rosie O'Donnell on that show) and really think I like Dancing with the Stars!
I like all the characters and don't want anyone to go home. This is my rundown:
Monique, who? I have no clue who that is but I did enjoy watching her part in the 70's dance.
Joey, whoa! I still have to say "whoa" when I say the name Joey Lawrence. I like him though, he seems like a great husband and you know us women love good husbands. I love how he needed his wife's opinion on him being "sexy". He can shake it too. But we all knew that, he did quite the jig on Blossom.
Jerry, I like Jerry! Am I crazy? I love watching him. He reminds me of my uncle and I love my uncle. I enjoy ol Jerry.
Emmit, Love Emmit! He is so cute and he seems so nice. I like watching him in the practice sessions. He can move too! I am impressed with him.
And Mario, who can forget Mario. Ahh... those dimples, those hips, that ass on Nip/Tuck...... ahhh like I said before A.C. Slater? Who know???

I feel much better today, I don't know why I get in those slumps but I guess the most important thing is I can get out of them. I guess the day I cannot will be the day I get some "professional" help.

Humm...

So I need to know what is my deal. I really feel like I am in auto pilot right now. Like I am going thru the motions but I don't have much feeling. I feel rather indifferent on all areas of my life and I hate that feeling. I wouldn't consider this a "depression" I don't think, I mean I get out of bed. I take my daughter to her apt.'s, I go to work, I talk to my friends but I just don't put any effort into what I am doing.
I have been in some real dark places in my life. Real dark and I recover like it was nothing and now when things are going well I am now feeling like this? I have a great husband who loves me, showers me with affection and compliments, I have two beautiful girls. Although yes Lily does have special needs she is happy and healthy right now and I have no room to complain where she is concerned. Then there is Andi who can be a pill but I love her to death. She makes me laugh, she makes me proud. I love watching her learn and explore new things every day.
I am lucky to have the jobs that I do that give me the flexiblilty that I need and now we got this amazing nurse to tend to Lily that wants to work less hours more days which is a blessing to us. We are refinancing our house and our house appraised for so much more than we paid for it we are able to get out of debt and save hundreds of dollars a month.
I am being relieved of so much stress yet I feel indiffernet. I do not like this feeling at all and start to wonder if maybe I need to see someone you know "professional". Who knows, I will probably feel like myself tomorrow.
I am just really upset about my reasoning for closing my other blog. I was confronted on my own feelings and that really hurt and upset me. Should I apologize for my own feelings? I think not. I am really upset and hurt and very bothered. Again I am sure I will be over this soon but in the meantime let me wallow.
Let me be like Erica on The Bachelor. Spoiled rotten brat who hates the fairy tale of poor girl falling in love with the prince. Why can't the spoiled rotten brat get the prince for a chance, I mean her whole life is filled with fancy food, fancy clothes and fancy vacations.... it is so not fair.

Models?

So if you found me, it is b/c I wanted to be found. That is the only way about it.

So I am not a snob or anything but I was a fashion model for 10 years. I walked some big runways and was in some major magazines. I do not look down on others who are not models, not in anyway. I don't look down on anyone (on purpose anyway, I am almost 6' tall) but there is one species that annoys me and that is wanna be models who think highly of themself. Hell, I was a big fashion model and didn't think highly of myself, the exact opposite so seeing someone who shouldn't think highly of themself do so annoys the hell out of me.

So I had a "model" come into Closet a la mode (our store) for a fitting for a charity fashion show and since she was the last one we were down to the last dress that all the other wanna be models didn't like. I am not surprised it is a modest dress but very fashionable but these aren't fashion models, these are "standing next to a car in a swimsuit models". I was prepared for her to not like the dress, I was not prepared for her to try it on and walk out like she was wearing fire. I said I will find you something else and I see a very figure flattering sexy dress that I knew would be right up her alley and what did she say when I brought it out? "Oh yes these dresses look good on me, they compliment my long legs" I almost laughed out loud and just agreed as I looked down on her, literally. I am 6' with 42" legs and she was 5'7" and who knows how "long" her legs were. I was just so funny how she was bragging about her legs to me. Westwood class of 1997 Best Legs. Oh yes that title will be on my headstone.

I remember in my model days you wore what they gave you and complimented it and acted like it was the prettiest thing that ever hit your body. I was astonished and taken back but whatever, my day is over. Thank God for my blog that I can relive my glory days at and not look too much like an stuck up asshole.

Starting Fresh!

Making a move to a different place.
I have nothing to share yet, just wanted to make the switch and get this started.
