Friday the 13th

We had quite a Freaky Friday the 13th. That sounds like a before and after puzzle on Wheel of Fortune.
I woke up feeling like I was peeing. Then I sat up and it felt like a baby's head coming out. Not kidding and so sorry this is so gross. I am pretty certain my readers (if I have any left) are all female. Anyway, it was a clot bigger than my fist. Then the blood continued and continued. I ended up in the ER. I bawled. I didn't want to be away from my breast fed only baby. Thank God I pumped when I was engorged and my mother in law was able to feed him while I was away, but it broke my heart nonetheless. Andrew lectured me since by the time we were at the hospital I was bleeding out of control. Thru everything! He said I should have gone in sooner. I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
The ER doc checked me (!) um regardless of what just came out the last thing I want in is a Dr.'s finger! Then I got an ultrasound. Told me to call my Dr., since he didn't work at that hospital, and schedule a D&C (!). Ugh! He sent me with meds that might help. My Dr. wasn't in that day, but being the Dr. he is, he called me. He was on call that weekend so he told me to call no matter what around 6pm and let him know how I was doing. Well turns out my body was doing what it was supposed to do. By dinner time my bleeding had slowed down and I called him to say I think it was resolving itself. He said he was there until Sunday AM so come into the ER anytime and he'd take care of me if needed. After the phone call I had one more HUGE clot. I saved it and showed it to my mom. I know it is totally gross, but my mom digs that stuff, she should have been a nurse, but she WAS a phlebotomists back in the day. Anyway, everyone was grossed out, but I was done. I got better afterwards. By the end of Friday the 13th I was fine.
I never called the Dr. and never went in. He called Sunday afternoon on his way out of town just to make sure I was doing ok and to let me know he would be out all week and if I need anything one of his partners could help out. I mean he called from his cell phone on his way out of town. Like isn't that the coolest Dr. on the planet? This guy is so amazing! I have to find a great thank you card for him.
Trying to be funny with Andrew yesterday I said "I really wish that Dr. didn't check my oil because it really hurt and now it is still uncomfortable" and he looks at me and says "HE PUT HIS FINGER UP YOUR BUTT?!" a little angry and I said "no!" he said "that is what checking your oil means and if he did that is totally wrong and unnecessary!" I mumbled back about trying to use his lingo and I will just not try that next time.
Hey nothing more exciting than getting the Victoria Secrets Swimsuit catalogue in the mail when you are less than 2 weeks postpartum. Sigh.

5 second rule

We were at my OB apt on Monday (Andrew, Andi and myself) and our witty Dr. handed Andi a sucker and she took off the wrapper and accidentally dropped it on the floor. She bent down to pick it up and the Dr. said "Oh No! The 5 second rule does NOT apply at a Gynecologist's floor".
Gross

Still pregnant
