So in a step towards a new, healthier Kim we joined a gym. Not just any ol Bally's either, this is the real deal. Feels like a health spa more than a gym. It is nice and fancy and everything you need, only problem is I still have to exercise. Not that I am against exercise, when I am in the zone I am very athletic and in shape but getting in that zone is a lot harder than it used to be.
I took my first spin class in 7 years and next time I want to torture myself I think I will just tie a rope around each limb and tie the other end to 4 different horses, then tell them to run.
I think it might be less painful, at least a lot quicker.

Something Scary
Wanna hear something scary? So many speak badly about teenagers and their clothing and their texting and their myspacing but seriously it isn't all that bad. I admit I am jealous that I could have gotten out of actually breaking up with boys in person had I had a cell phone or myspace, but it isn't all that different from when I was a teen. I am sure the adults spoke badly of us as teens with our clothing style. You know I was in HS from 94-97 and we were all about the high wasted jeans and mid drift baring tops that we weren't allowed to wear. I listened to the Beastie Boys who are no worse than AFI or Panic! at the disco, it is just now I am the adult so I see things differently than back then, you know in hindsight... I remember my 18th birthday my boyfriend bought me a pager, the black one that would either ring or vibrate. I remember the first time the thing went off and I about had a heart attack sitting at Denny's having my free birthday meal with my girls Marlene, Jill and Allison. The page meant nothing b/c I was not going to ask the Denny's disgruntled manager to use his phone b/c my boyfriend just paged me. It was about a year later after I had graduated and gotten a nice big block cell phone that weighed 5 lbs. But now I turn my car around if I forget my phone. I think what if I am in an accident with out it? Life changes, we all change what is scary to me is what will be available to my kids when they are teens.
Andi knows that I can rewind TV, and this morning we listened to Ray Charles sing ABC on Sesame Street at least 10 times, "ageen peese!" (again, please) My toddler knows that I can rewind TV..... did you hear that? Does that not strike you old folks like me as odd? What about having breakfast with some long lost friends and little Joey (2) takes his mom's cell phone and he doesn't hold it to his head to talk, he says "cheese" to his mom. He knows that the cell phone that keeps us connected when we are not at home also doubles as a phone. I laughed at the cuteness but I also shook my head at what these kids will be doing 12 years from now...... I think it may be scary but then again my mom probably thought after the ATARI was invented, "what will they think of next?"

Long Time No Talk
Hi Friends! I hope you all had a nice holiday! I did! I don't get much on the computer when I am not at work, not sure what that says about me but it is what it is.
I had a nice long break although I did have to work at the store on Friday, I had Thursday off, Saturday and Sunday off and Monday is my taxi day with Lily. That kid has more apts. than me. Saturday we had family portraits and we went to the Picture People... don't expect much in your mailbox this year... sigh.. that place really disappointed me and it will be our last time going there.
I've been thinking of things I would like to talk about and I come up short. Do I talk about what happened on a daily basis or do I ask myself thought provoking questions and answer them?
I feel like giving my Christmas list today:
Chanel Earrings (the ones with the two c's)
A nice Robe (from Domestic Bliss)
A New Black Purse (Marc Jacobs, Prada, Coach, Kate Spade, you know something simple)
A gift Certificate for a Day at the Spa
My Ipod fixed
and Peace on Earth
What I don't want:
Money (all it does is go to pay off other people's gifts)
Nothing
This is the dumbest blog I have ever posted. My apologizes....

Turkey Holiday
So I am chilling in my bed, listening to Andi scream her head off and watching the first episode of Real World Denver on Thanksgiving Eve. Why is Andi screaming? No idea, I have been trying to put her down for an hour now and she just wouldn't fall asleep the nice way so now I am making her work it out herself. I can't believe how determinded this kid is. I absolutely HATE making her cry but what else can I do? I nursed and rocked her for an hour and she would close her eyes but not fall asleep. I am tired. My eyes are scratchy and I need to close them. I really need to have been better about this whole sleeping and teaching self soothing. Andi is freaking 20 months old now, she really should be able to fall asleep on her own. She has been in a fit for 20 minutes now. I guess I will have to go get her and calm her down. I don't think she will ever fall asleep getting so worked up... sigh being a mom is so hard. It is so hard finding that balance of nurturing and discipline. Oh wait... quiet... I think she fell asleep. Good, I really am tired. My eyes seem to have a time limit, maybe getting up with Lily at 3:30am and having a hard time falling back to sleep might be why my time limit is only 9pm tonight. I usually can get to 10pm before my eyes quit on me.
Andrew is treating tonight like it is a Friday night and went out with his friends but that is ok b/c I get a movie night with my mom and sister Friday night and breakfast with friends Saturday morning, not to mention play practice starts back up Monday andI will be gone a lot while this play thing is happening.
I am happy tomorrow is Thankgiving. I will be headed to Martha Stewart's .... I mean my sister's and all I have to bring is wine, how appropiate. I guess she only wants food made from scratch and to also taste good so the control freak will handle it all...... :) she knows I love her and her cooking so I am not offending. I love Thanksgiving. I was raised with a dad who got up very early to start home made stuffing and to get the bird ready. My mom made the sides including the ..gag... sweet potatoes with mashmellows on top and other things that I do enjoy. My sister does it all and amazing so I look forward to the food and the time spent with my family, I really love my family. They are great! I love that it is a time when family gathers, eats great food and no presents are exchanged. Thanksgiving is my favorite. I'm a cornball and I apologize. I am tired and sad I had to make my baby cry herself to sleep. :(
I better get to bed, my eyes hurt and I need to close them.
Have a very safe and happy Thanksgiving and enjoy your family; families are God's gift to us.

Meant to be thin.....
So since I have had jaw problems, and I've been sick twice in a month I have lost some weight.
I am feeling better now except for my jaw is still pretty sore but I went to eat our early family Thanksgiving dinner last night and realized I have something now wrong with my back molar. I will get to the dentist when I can but with this short work week I have to work more so I don't know when I will get in. My point is that it is painful to eat on one side. So now with the jaw problem and a bad tooth I am thinking there is some higher force wanting me to be a size 6.
Although I appreciate the offer, I really miss eating.
Oh and teens still scare me. My nieces huge Sweet Sixteen party was Saturday night. Although it didn't quite compare to the MTV show it was still a pretty big blow out with a DJ and at a restauraunt. The dance floor was packed with teens dancing and while I got out there a bit I was very self conscious and not in my element. I think I would have rather danced at a wedding doing the Electric Slide and YMCA.

Teenagers
Teenagers scare me. They scared me when I was a teen and scare me even more now as an "adult" if you can really call me one of those.
I went to Albertson's this morning w/ Andi for a Starbucks and some laundry detergent. It was 7am and the place was packed with teens on their way to school and I froze. I just walked pass the line of them and grabbed a donut and my oxy clean balls and checked out with no coffee. I'd like to say I didn't want to wait in the line but I think I didn't want to stand in line with a bunch of teenagers. They are mean.

"Sorry, I'm not your guy"
OK call me juvenile or whatever but I was very caught up in Laguna Beach and last night was the finale. I found two quotes that caught me off guard and you probably think I am joking but seriously two very good quotes came out of a show about rich, spoiled High School kids.
Ok first one might be a cliché but I have never heard this one the girl giving the speech during graduation said to the usual follow your dreams but then she said "those who mind don't matter but those who matter don't mind" I actually had to rewind with my tivo to hear it again b/c I just thought it was so true.
Second one is silly but I just thought was so cute. Jessica and Cameron were sitting on a blanket on the beach (they are ex boyfriend/girlfriend) and he said I am so glad we are friends still and whatever and then he said do you think you will ever be my girlfriend again and she said no and he said sorry and she said why and he said "sorry I'm not your guy".
I just thought that was absolutely the cutest quote ever and I thought man even if he weren't my guy if he said that to me he would have all of a sudden been my guy. Am I the only one to see the adorableness in this kid? Not that it matters, he was in 2nd grade when I was graduating but still let me pretend I can still relate to these kids.

Strep!?
Ugh! I went to the Dr. yesterday to get antibiotics for what I thought was a sinus infection. I found out it is strep. She also thought I had a sinus infection as well so she gave me the z-pack so I can kick this thing in the butt. I am already feeling a bit better but that is still with three Advil’s and a Sudafed. Still it pretty much sucks.
I am in this big play for church this Christmas and I have this HUGE part that I am semi freaking out about. I get one scene down then we practice the next and I have all these lines I need to memorize and I just panic. I actually am very good with memorization but I think it is the lines and the character I am playing. Shocking I know but I am not a real bubbly person and I have to be this peace making bubbly Christmas loving freak and it is hard for me to get into. I know that is what acting is all about but I never studied drama, I wore couture gowns and pretended I liked them (not much of a stretch, now catalogue modeling "active wear” that was a stretch), that is the extent of my acting. I am involved in my church plays every year but usually as a side kick or a waitress or nurse, this is huge and I know we don't have a church of a thousand but we are selling tickets for Friday, Saturday and we are doing it during church on Sunday. It is a big deal for our little church so yeah I am a little nervous.
You will notice I am sure that will be pretty much on my mind and fill all my "free time" until Monday December 18th just in time to relax for the 19th.... my 28th birthday!
If you live in AZ let me know if you want a ticket! My mom bought two tables so no cost, just don't say you want to go and not go! Email me if you are interested: kim@metrovalley.com

Mile High Club?
So my favorite radio station is talking about the "mile high club" and the main DJ is saying it seems over rated but the other two guys seem to want to join.
Here is my opinion:
It has to be way over rated just as I think sex on the beach is way over rated. I have never done either but I hate sand between my toes so I don't think I would want to roll around naked on the sand.... yuck! And for the mile high club, I have way too much consideration for other people to do something like that. I get mad when someone is pooping in the bathroom, taking too much time up. Now granted I am sure most guys bust a nut a lot faster than they poop but the matter is still the same. If I am in line doing the pee dance b/c I wait until the last minute to go and two people are some how going at it in a tiny bathroom I will be VERY pissed when they come out with messy hair.

TGIF!
I am happy to say Thank God it is Friday!
I think I will take the girls to the zoo tomorrow since it will be in the low 80's, otherwise we are pretty plan free which I love!
Today my beautiful niece Ariel is 16 years old! Not to sound too corny but I remember the day she was born! I was almost 12 and I stayed up all night in the waiting room at Williams Airforce Base waiting for that kid to be born. Ariel is an amazing kid with a huge heart and an amazing sense of leadership, not to mention gorgeous! I am so proud to be her aunt. I love that kid.
Just beware though, as great as she is, her driving not so great. Be careful those of you in AZ! :)

Hey Mr. Sandman....
Hey Mr. Sandman, watch it next time! What were you trying to do give me a heart attack?
I feel asleep watching Nip/Tuck, If House went back to 7pm I would be able to watch my Dr. Christian Troy at 8pm but now that House is at 8pm and I have to watch Nip/Tuck at 9pm I have a hard time staying awake and I fell asleep while they were fixing the devil guy Escobar's face and man I was taking to a scary world! I know I kept being called Kimber and things were very very wrong.
Phew.... glad I woke up, just bummed b/c I don't know what else happened. Clue me in if you are like me and watch the show for sinners.
Next time if I must dream about that show maybe I could spank that naughty Dr. Troy.

Sick..... again?
Ugh! I am sick, AGAIN! Are you kidding me? I mean seriously? Sick?! Again!? So stupid! I am not the only one, it is my whole family. We were just sick 4 weeks ago and it stayed around for 2.5 weeks last time. How do I know it was 4 weeks ago? Because I got my period last time I was sick and what do you know she comes again when uncle cold comes to visit. I guess they might as well come together to completely ruin my time right now. It is better then one coming with all their baggage, then leaving just in time for the other to visit. I must be dying.
So can I complain about the male species or shall I not? I don't want anyone calling my husband to tell him how I am blasting him so I won't, I will just complain about all men. I know they all do the same things, right? My Saturday started with "someone" throwing the ball in the house and breaking my Lladro! My beautiful bride Lladro that has been around for many years. Then not only does he not say sorry he says it shouldn't have been on the shelf that it has been on for 2.5 years!!! Excuse me? Then he goes with me to find a red top for an event for Lily's school I volunteered my time and legs (sigh) for that I had to specifically wear a red top to. I do not own any red garments at all so I had to get something. I wasn't going to start wearing red so I wanted it to be inexpensive so we went to Mervyn's. I haven't been to Mervyn's in a long time and didn't know what I was getting myself into but long story short I went in for a $20 sweater and left with $300 worth of kids clothing, shoes and MENS crap! That place has great stuff! My snobby self wasn't expecting much but I was highly impressed. I liked my top I got and I loved the kid’s selection and prices but what pissed me off was that my husband thought he needed a track suit, under shirts, underwear and socks! I mean seriously, did he need all that? This is the same guy who recently bought a $500 outfit to wear to a baptism in SOUTH DAKOTA and the same guy who spent almost $200 on cologne! I mean seriously. Can we say metro sexual?
Ok so after that register shock husband says we need to go to Wal-Mart for a car for Andi! What? Well she loves them so much at Lily's school, so she needs one of her own??? So I say fine, he has to watch them all night so if he thinks this will make his life easier then ok. Well after I tell him she is NOT getting the $250 power motored Mustang (he said he would never buy her a ford anyway afterwards) she got the little Fred Flintstone one where she has to use her own feet to drive it. We head home. I say I need to get Andi straight to sleep when we get home so I can get showered and ready and what does he do the minute we get home? Start assembling the car so does Andi want to sleep, hell no! She wants her car so I say then she is all yours and I get ready just to have her screaming, hanging onto my legs a little while later while I am blow drying my hair.... sigh..... I leave and get home at 11:30pm to a scary sight, the messiest house on the block. I appreciate him watching the kids but please, macaroni and cheese still in the pot on the stove? Then I climb into bed tired and not feeling well (cold was coming on strong) and who is in bed with us? Andi. Ugh. I knew this would not be a good night. He said he couldn't get her down in her crib, and I am the reason she is spoiled (eye roll).
Alright I know I shouldn't complain about my husband but this weekend was a bit trying of all my patience, the kids were a piece of cake.

Let me entertain you....
So OK Dr. Cohen (jaw guy) said that although my jaw is indeed locked, I still have a good range of motion and we do not have to go thru all I had to last time it locked. For those of you who don't know last Feb my jaw locked pretty extreme and after Dr. apts and PT finally in April I had a procedure to unlock it but then I was stuck wearing stupid splints in my mouth. They suck and when I finally weaned off the lower one my jaw started popping and locking again even though I was wearing the night one. Long story short a good hug from little Andi and it locked back up. I asked him what he thought about braces and he said what the Orthodontist said basically get the braces to fix my big overbite not just for my jaw but they both think if my jaw is put in a better position with the braces it could relieve a lot of pressure and hopefully making my TMJ better. I think I will bite the bullet and do it, just after our family Christmas picture. Sigh......
So that is it about my "health" not like I am dying. It is so stupid, such a dumb problem.
Oh and I know about Visalign I know a few people have recommended them to me but I am afaid with the option of taking them in and out, I won't wear them. They are far more expensive than the already expensive ones I am looking at and I couldn't stand wearing the bleaching trays that were formed for my teeth, I gagged. I have a weird thing with things in my mouth. Don't turn this dirty now, I just gag easily and they thought of taking those in and out of my mouth just creeps me out.
So this is boring. Sorry. I will try to be a little more spicy another time! Cha cha cha....
Happy Friday!

Braces....
Arrgghhh! I am so indecisive! I know I should get them but I don't want them, braces. Ugh! Remember when Marcia Brady got them, or was that Jan? Whoever took it badly and they were in High School.
I made an apt. with my TMJ Doctor for tomorrow so I will see what he thinks. I will see if he wants to unlock my jaw first or just do the braces or see if he thinks I should have them at all. He will be my deciding factor. Not my h.s. reunion coming up in less than a year.
I was class of 97's best legs (c'mon let me use that card here), my year book was FILLED with "don't forget me when your famous" comments. Now I have to show up, if I do show up, NOT famous and with braces? My luck I will be not famous, braces and pregnant (no I am not). My H.S. although rather ghetto it produced Jimmy Eat World and Authority Zero and Authority Zero guys actually graduated our year, sigh.
I know these are such trivial issues but I can't help but stress about them. Like I used to stress about a bad break out before a big shoot. Oh brother................
