Still here
Hey folks I'm still here. Baby is not. Even though I was so excited and encouraged to hear 50% effaced and 2m dilated on Tuesday, it is Saturday and nothing is happening. That is ok though, I have stuff on Ebay that ends today and I need to send those out. Tomorrow is Super Bowl so I don't think we should be at the hospital then. Although if the game is anything like 2 weeks ago I may just burst my water stressing (GO CARDS!!!). Monday I am so busy with Lily and her therapies that maybe Tuesday would be best. Well anyway it goes, I am scheduled for a c-section on Friday the 6th at 6am and have to be there at 4am. Sigh.
I'd love to at least attempt a VBAC before hand so we will be doing some cervix softening the natural way... yeah baby.... and doing some walking...walking...walking... oh and of course stressing out watching the game tomorrow. Can you believe the AZ Cardinals are in the Super Bowl, it is beyond exciting for us natives here?!
I have been so busy at work trying to pass the payroll torch to my sister, who had the position 6 years ago, things have changed in 6 years so we've been working together so she knows everything I did and wouldn't you know they computer would crash in the middle of all that? I think I worked more hours last week than I had the entire year. But what else would I be doing laying down with my feet up? Please. I feel comfortable now though leaving. And so excited that when I do start working again I will be doing a far less stressful job from HOME! Woo Woo! I have always wanted to be a stay at home mom and this is going to be awesome! [computer says wait to hear how she thinks about this whole thing 6 months from now] Did my computer just say something? No, that isn't possible.
So folks I leave you and when I return I could be a human milk factory, or I could be just as I am today, just bigger and crabbier.
Can you believe we are hear already? Wasn't it just June when we returned from NYC and I said guess what?!?! Where does the time go?

Loved
So Andrew got these tickets to The Cards Monday Night Football game back in Sept. He has been talking about it and has been over joyed for this day. He said I must attend with him and he was inviting one of his closest friends and his wife (whom I love). So I said "sure" thinking Nov. 10th is far away and whatever. Well as the time got closer I started doing my usual duck and cover figuring ways to weasel out. I said maybe he should go with "the guys", when that didn't work I threw the whole no babysitter routine, to where his response was get on the phone with our niece and plan her stay the night (worked out great with a holiday today) so I was stuck. The game started at 6:30pm, it is on the other side of the state, might as well be CA so I knew this would be a long night. What I didn't realize was how many freaking commercial breaks they need for a MNF game. I mean seriously. I tend to do math when I am in situations out of my control as a way to figure out how much longer I will be there and go from there. I figured it took 45 minutes to play 15 minutes of football the first two quarters, the third went by nicely at less than 45 min THEN WTH the 4th quarter was worse than paint drying. Ok not really, it was in all reality an awesome game, but a flag was thrown on almost every play the entire last qtr, it took more than 30 min to play 4 minutes of football. I am not exaggerating. I am pregnant. I wake up with kids through out the night. I was tired, cold and uncomfortable. Yes it was a good game. Cards won, barely. Kurt Warner is incredibly hot, yes those are true facts, but to take 4 hours to play 1 hour of football is beyond ridiculous. And yes I said I was cold. The roof was open and it was a bit chilly. I have no idea how the Packers fans sit out in that weather and cheer on their team. I mean it was down near 60 degrees last night. I was cold!
So I had a lot to think about while I sat there for 4 hours, of course not while they were actually playing, but while the refs went flag crazy, and the commercial breaks were taken and the breaks by the teams.... I thought about how fast this pregnancy is going and I got sad. Baby Ollie was a mad man during the game and I couldn't help but think, will I be on the side lines watching him one day, of course God willing... still waiting for those test results that I feel could make this pregnancy be very stressful. But again God willing, will I be watching my baby boy play football one day? Or soccer or whatever he chooses, but he will choose one day. This is the last time I will be punched in the rib, tickled on my sides and kicked in my bladder. This is the only time he will be all mine, all the time and that made me sad. With the girls I just wanted the pregnancy to be over, I wanted to hold my baby, and I do want to hold him, but I think when there is a finality of knowing you will never experience this amazing feeling, then you really don't want it to go away. I truly do love the feeling of growing a child. That is a weird way of putting it, but that is what happens when a seed is planted, right? And well that is what happened. So anyway I thought about that. Then I was watching the filmographers next to us and saw a guy using actual film and that brought up so many old memories. I remember watching a special talking about how NFL is the only sports organization to still use actual film and it was interesting to see if be done. I was thinking about how in 8th grade my photography class we had to use those black bags you put your arms in the put film into. I was thinking about the dark room and the smells and how much fun that class was. And I wondered what do they do in photography class now? It is all digital, do kids even get to develop their film? Then I thought man I am old. I took typing on an actual type writer and I actually developed my own film in photography. Then I thought about how when I modeled it was shoot and hope you get it. You would have to wait for the film to be developed and get a call that said "we got it!" or "we need to re shoot!" I thought about how glad I am that when I modeled it was the 90's and I was allowed to have hips and be a *gasp* size 6!
I thought about the fact that even though I wasn't doing what I wanted to be doing. I wanted to be in bed. I wanted to have put my kids in their beds. But my husband wanted me to be with him and share in his excitement. He wanted me, not his buddies, me. And that thought made me hold his hand and kiss his cheek.
I felt lucky. I felt loved.
And even at a time that I wasn't my happiest. At a time that I feel there is this cloud over me and until I get the results it will be there and I don't want to think about the results if they aren't what I want. All that didn't matter. Doesn't matter. I'm loved. Whatever happens we will make it through and isn't that all that really matters?

Weekend Update, with well.. Me
So this is an odd time for me to blog. It is Prime time. This is my time for TV and thank God for Tivo, I can blog.
I have spent today running Lily to her 4 apts. then to the hospital for the study and then home. I choose to be raped once again by a bike and did spin again and I now am home. Got caught up with my girl TKW and her exciting news, then put the kids to bed.
Since I will relive today all over again tomorrow, but tomorrow will be bringing both girls to the dentist. Oh goody! I wanted to post about this weekend and if I wait until I have a moment of quiet, it may be the next weekend by then.
So we had company this weekend and we had a great time. We dropped the girls off at noon at my moms and headed out to a night race for Nascar. The drive was long and nauseating with my husband at the wheel and it was a hot day. Nothing like seeing pockets coming out of cut off shorts. Mullets. Girl mullets. Skullets. Lots and lots of smoking. Fried bologna sandwiches and lot of alcohol. Lots of it.
We drank, walked around and drank. Walked around. Watched people. Drank. Went to our seats around 5pm and from then on I was stuck in only what I could call my worst nightmare. Sardined packed with people, sitting on the lap of my neighbor. Unable to move around. Only thing in front of me was people. And cars. Going fast. In circles. FOR 316 LAPS. 316! Really?
By lap 60 I was counting how long it takes for them to do a lap, then calculating when the race would end. I prayed. Literally prayed for no cautions that really held things up and messed with my average.
But I will say, as long as you are in good company, anything is fun. I would have been Andrew's worst nightmare if he made me tag along with his buddies, So I do admit I did enjoy myself for the most part
I mostly had fun in the beginning and in the end. If only we could have merged those two together a little closer I would have nothing but fabulous things to say about Nascar.
I left with this, my husband owes me a Broadway show and a good one. One where they don't speak English. Or talk at all. Pure singing. He owes it to me.
I think words are nothing though. I will show my weekend update in pictures. And captions, of course.
Had to buy hats, of course, when you are a compulsive shopper, you even find something to buy at Nascar. I cheered for the hot guy #9 Kasey Kane

Kim: "Why is that car have an upside down 20?"
Everyone but me: "Um... Kim, that is a 7"
Kim: "Really? That really just looks like an upside down 20 to me"
It still looks like an upside down 20 (he finished 2nd btw)

Gotta show me and my boys car, whom ever he is.
And here is one for good measure.... hey lady, the 1st grade called, they want their hairstyle back.
And there you go. Fun times at Nascar.
Sunday was spent lounging pool side. Not IN the pool. Not yet, but it was nice to relax. I'd rather not share those pix though.
I'm off to bed. Well watch my shows I missed while typing all this and then to bed.

This is it!
I don't mention sports much b/c well, I'm a girl. But the Phoenix Suns have always been near and dear to my heart. But they have broken it several times and after those early 90's I took a step back and tried not to get so invested. Then Steve Nash came into my life and I couldn't ignore them anymore. Yet they continue to break my heart, but not anymore! THIS IS IT FOLKS, this IS IT!
Steve and Shaq! YES!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23019005/
I know this is what we need a downtown power house to add to our speed and incredible heart. He isn't too old, he is awesome and just what Phoenix needs to take it all the way. I am totally excited.
But totally still a girl.

Kim's Feeling Randy!!
So after a fun filled Saturday, we went to Salt Lake City Sunday afternoon.
Our flight was on time. Lily was happy. Things were great. Our Phx airport looked like Vegas or LA. So many pretty people, I felt like a sloth. I guess it was the pretty people who were invited to the events, but didn't get THE ticket so they went home on Sunday.
I still swear I saw Joel Madden, but Andrew says I did not.
We show up in SLC to a winter wonderland. The snow was falling, yet it wasn't as cold as Kentucky. It was nice actually. The mountains were gorgeous and Andrew wished we had stayed an extra day to get some snowboarding in.... then we got to learn the politics of Utah and wanted to go right back home.
We rolled up into our hotel at half time. I am not a huge football fan. I like football, but I hate watching it on tv. There are too many commercial breaks. But Super Bowl I like. I like the game and the commercials. I especially like the last quarter of the game. So it is half time, of Super Bowl playing in MY home state. I want to watch the game; Andrew wants to watch the game. We want to see the game. We'd like a beer as well as we watch the game. Is that so wrong? Isn't every other person in the United States of America doing just that? Beer and the game? Well apparently NOT in Utah. Our hotel was empty. Totally deserted! We are starving, we had peanuts in our belly. We go to the restaurant and ask if they have a TV. Nope. Ok let's go to the lounge. Sorry you can't come in here with your daughter? We can't sit at a table, order food and watch the game on your TV? Nope we couldn't. Feeling bad for the laws of their state, Utah ain't messing around with the whole "it takes a village" thing; they offer us the key to the top floors concierge suite were they had a couple crackers, some cheese that had been out since the game started and some Pepsi products.
Ok back to our room. Order room service pay $75 (!) for a grilled cheese, mac and cheese and fettuccini and 4 beers. Finally watched the 4th qtr in our room, and what a 4th qtr that was! It was awesome! Go Giants! I had tears in my eyes watching Peyton clapping for his brother. That was just so sweet! I know I am so full of estrogen.
So finally off to bed after House. Lily was on the pull out sofa and we were in the king bed. Lily was having one of those nights where she'd fall asleep and then wake up screaming. It happened three times so after the third screaming fit, I debated over it and gave it half a klonopin. Bad idea!
Come morning I fed her and bathed her half asleep. We got to the hospital and she was still asleep. We'd wake her and she'd be pissed. She didn't do much for the Dr. but it was a good apt. anyway. We just needed to get "in" with Shriner's and now we are. The Dr. was awesome and the whole place was very nice. She got some x-rays and they showed some curvature on her spine, but she thinks it will improve in therapy and no need for a brace yet. Her hips look great. We got hooked up with a place here to get her new AFO's and SMO's which is totally exciting, knowing here in AZ they'd rather eat off their own arms then give us some new anything. Then they also decided that they would get her a new chair, but that will have to be a one week process and we have to do it once again in SLC. The land of the beautiful, but ultra conservative (is anyone else running in these elections besides Mitt Romney? You'd never know if all you watched was local Utah news) (sorry not judging).
But getting a chair that we actually need, instead of what our state will allow here is worth it.
Getting back the airport was super fun! Listening to Andrew scream at the poor GPS girl is always a hoot. And it was super fun when we got an earlier flight, pre boarded for it and they put Lily's wheelchair in under the plane. We sat down and then the captain came on to tell us and the handful of others who came in from Denver that we had to sit there for 2 hours, b/c AZ was raining and full of "rich people with private jets that took priority", words of the Southwest Pilot, not mine. I didn't see him, but I can pretty much guarantee there was a birdie flashed or at least an eye roll with that statement. We were stuck on a plane that was not moving for 2 hours. Did I mention how crabby Lily was from the previous night’s klonopin dose? I ran off the plane at that news and left Andrew with Lily and snuck on a flight to LA and that is where I am writing from today. Well I did get me a Starbucks. Did I mention my inability to find one in that morning? Then I sat and held my crabby, then sleepy 46 lb daughter for the next 3 hours. What fun. Oh I did get to help the captain with an answer on his crossword puzzle. Super duper! At least I downloaded all the Samantha Who episodes on my Itouch and watched almost all of them. What a great show! I can't wait to see it when it starts back up. When these writers get off their asses and stop complaining. Do they think they are that important to leave so many other people jobless? I bet you I could find 100 new writers who would kill for an opportunity to write for a TV show and they would be just as good and promise not to go all union on us.
OOOHHHHH Kim is in for it today aren't I? First Utah, then Mitt and now Union.......
